CORE RESPONSIBILITIES of SOCIOLOGY DEPARTMENT

To conduct scientific studies at national and international levels by strengthening academic and sectoral collaborations worldwide, in Turkey, and in the Aegean Region, and to disseminate these studies to a broad audience.

To train individuals who adopt scientific, cultural, and ethical values, focusing on student-centeredness, researching and evaluating Turkey's social structure, and seeking solutions to social problems with the knowledge gained, thereby contributing to social life.

To present the sociological knowledge possessed by the department for the benefit of society, and to enable individuals to understand and critically analyze social, cultural, and economic events and phenomena, fostering a sociologist identity capable of designing research on the topics they address.

In line with the missions of Ege University and the Faculty of Literature, to maintain its position among the leading quality departments in Turkey, as a department that has both effective sociology education and teaching, and a productive relationship with social institutions.
